Seniors Grocery Shopping

Volunteers from the Seniors’ Resources Society will take and fill phone-in grocery orders at Marketplace IGA for seniors who are unable to shop for themselves due to: Illness, Disability, Lack of Transportation or Weather Related Concerns. Groceries will be delivered to your door and the driver will collect payment. Credit card payment or cash in the exact amount will be accepted.  There is a $10.00 delivery fee and the driver does not make change. This service is available Wednesdays between 9:00am and 11:30am.  Groceries will be delivered the same day before 6:00pm.

 

Income Tax Program

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and community organizations.  Volunteers assist low income retirees or disabled seniors with simple income tax and benefit returns. For more information please contact our office.

Form Completion and Assistance

We are available to assist with both hard copy (paper) and online forms or applications accessing the most recent forms for SAFER, Medical Services Plan Regular and Temporary Premium Assistance, Parking Permit Program for People with Disabilities, Canada Pension Plan Retirement Pension, Old Age Security Pension, HandyDART and HandyCard, BC Housing and many other support services offered to seniors. For assistance, please call our office to make an appointment.

 

Snow Angels

As available and when safe to do so, Snow Angels are community volunteers who offer free assistance with shoveling when there has been a snowfall of 4” or more.  Please call our office from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday for further information 604-793-9979.
