Resources

Support services, education and resources are available to seniors, their caregivers, friends and families as well as other support agencies with no membership required.  Our office is stocked with a variety of brochures and handouts on topics of importance to seniors as well as a resource binder.  Please feel free to call our office if you are looking for information on a specific topic, or come in to browse the materials. Some of the topics of interest are:

After a Death: Bereavement Programs, Form Completion.


Community Education:
Several times a year we offer information sessions and workshops on topics

relevant to seniors. For upcoming workshops

Elder Abuse:
Financial, Emotional and/or Physical, who to contact for support.


Health Support Groups:
A listing of local support groups for specific illnesses.


Home Support:
Better at Home, Fraser Health Authority’s Home Health, Private Nursing Businesses.


Housing:
We have listings of affordable housing, assisted living, supportive housing and long term care facilities as well as online support through the Seniors Housing Directory of BC click here: We can also assist with applications for low income housing and the Home Adaptations for Independence (HAFI) program. Medical Equipment Registry:
We have an updated list of individuals who have gently used medical equipment available for sale as well as contact information for the Red Cross and Mt Cheam Lion’s Club equipment loan programs.


Newcomers:
Maps, guides, programs and brochures for seniors new to Chilliwack.


Prepared Meal Programs:
Brochures and Menus for local prepared meal delivery programs.


Transportation:
Community Programs, Private Businesses and Public Transit information is available.


Volunteer Visiting:
There are many non-profit charitable organizations that offer volunteer visiting programs and peer support.  We can provide updated contact information.
