I have been very fortunate to combine my passion for travel and my love of working with Seniors to secure the position of Bus Tour Coordinator for the Seniors’ Resources Society. I worked with Seniors at a Retirement Complex for 7 years, ran my own Bus Tour Company for 7 years and have been with the Chilliwack Seniors’ Resources for 9 years. These 23 years have been wonderfully fulfilling and continue to be interesting and challenging to keep creating new experiences for our members. It has a very satisfying position in which I never tire of seeing the joy and excitement the trips provide to our Seniors. I work with a fabulous team of Co-workers and Volunteers that help to make these trips possible.
I have been with the Chilliwack & District Seniors’ Resources Society for three years now and am currently the Program Coordinator. Working with seniors, hearing their stories and seeing the smiles on their faces when they have enjoyed something, we have organized for them gives me great joy. As a part of my role I plan events, activities, community education as well as manage the volunteers. Previously I worked in a retirement home as an Activity Coordinator where I planned activities and drove the bus for their outings!
I have the pleasure of being the Administrative Assistant for the Chilliwack and District Seniors’ Resources Society. I have been here for 2 ½ years and love every minute. Working with Seniors has always been one of my favorite things to do. Even as a young girl candy striping I knew I would work with seniors again one day. Hearing stories from our members and volunteers how our society has crossed something off their bucket list because they went on a trip, or they have met new friends or a companion, how joining has brought them out of depression and gave them a new purpose. I can go on and on about all the wonderful stories and experiences shared in the office on a daily basis. We have an amazing team of co-workers and volunteers and look forward to “work” every day!
